So if your past due bill is sent into collections tomorrow, how long does it take to show up on your credit report? Is it instant or takes a while?
For example. If you owe 4r companies 500 dollars each. Your current credit score is 590. How long will it take to come off your credit if you pay those creditors their money? Also about how many points would your score go up from 590?
Some people say 7 years .If it is written off does that mean it will not effect your credit score in the future???

My husband and I are looking at paying off credit cards with the income tax money that we get. We also want to look at buying a new car, but we want the new credit score to show up.
