Is there a website that I can find out if a link to get a free credit report is legitimate?

Is there a site I can go to that if I type in the name of the credit company in question, I can find out if it is not legit? Thanks!

You can get a free credit report at http://www.annualcreditreport.com – This is the real free site to get your credit report once a year without a credit card.
Credit reports are free. Credit scores are not.
