Does anyone know of any student loans out there for people with somewhat bad credit?
My credit kind of sucks, we won’t say why and I was wondering if anyone knew of any student loans that help people who do not have a co-signer, and whos credit isn’t that good? I know this is a shot in the dark but I figured you never know til you ask. Thanks.
I recently had to declare bankruptcy and I was offered all kinds of loans. One to start with would be the Stafford student loan. You might check out http://www.fafsa.org (i believe it’s .org-it might be .gov)Also, contact the financial aide office at your school they might know several websites you can utilize. Good luck!!
I went to school and received my associates degree…my credit is bad due to a divorce and the fact that I love to spend my money foolishly…
I went to my local bank that I was a customer of…sat down with a loan representative and we went over different plans available. There are several options available with help from the Federal Government.
Follow the link below and see what works but don’t give up…an education is something that is necessary to succeed in this world. Good luck
The Stafford Federal Loan Program (used to be the Guaranteed Loan Program or Perkins Loans) does NOT even pull a credit report. It is a loan guaranteed by the federal government. It has certain limits for each year of school and you do not start to repay this loan until 6 months after graduation or after you leave school.
The Federal Stafford loan does not require a credit check and is the most widely used student loan out there. To get one, start by filling out your FAFSA http://www.fafsa.ed.gov and then also speak to your financial aid office of the school you’re attending.
You can find more info on Stafford and other types of student loans at Sallie Mae’s website. http://www.salliemae.com/get_student_loan/find_student_loan/undergrad_student_loan/federal_student_loans/stafford_loans/
