I heard that banks and other interested persons with a good reason, can get a ” free look” at your credit report, just by typing in your name. They do not need your social security number to do so. Just curious. Can they get your SSN off the credit report they pull up? Thanks!

If so, why would they do this? What if your credit didn’t pass? Or if it was good enough to join but not good enough for your selected rating?

Like, if you have a perfect credit score, could you simply switch 100% over to using cash and have your credit score stay perfect? Or would it lose points because of the inactivity.

Besides obviously not making your payments on time. I am curious to find out if having a balance will decrease your score, even if you’re making the minimum monthly payments.

Also, what is the reputable site where I can get my credit score? (not freecreditreport.com).

Thanks!

I am confused, I just got married a month ago and I was wondering what happens to your credit report when you get married. Do you have your own or is it joint with your husband?

I was told that if you pay off a car loan in a year or less that it looks like you may have had to sell the car because you couldn’t keep up with the payments. Or to put it another way, it isn’t reflected on your credit report that the entire loan was paid off in that short period of time. I’d like to keep the life of my loan short to cut down on the amount of interest I have to pay.

Are companies who take direct deposit allowed to change your credit card expiration date without your authority? I have a Gym membership and the card expired. I stopped going and they changed the exp date and kept billing.

I am wondering if credit card application affect your credit score/credit report negatively?
does it lower the credit score every time some one applies for it?
how many times in a year is considered normal and not over application?
